1. Are there some items that I can't take to the landfill?

Yes. The landfill does not accept the following items:
- Biomedical Waste
- Chemical Waste
- Commercial Demolition Waste
- Federal or State Regulated Waste
- Hazardous Waste
- Industrial Waste
- Liquid Waste
- Sewage

2. If I am taking a load of debris to the landfill what do I need?

If you are a residential customer of the City of Altus take a copy of your utility bill showing you pay for trash pickup and an ID, this will allow you to dispose of 1500 pounds of trash each month for free. Anything over the 1500 pounds you will have to pay for. The free 1500 pounds does not apply to commercial accounts or contractors for hire.
